Students go to summer treats, which one will take the win?

It’s everyone’s favorite time of the year again, summer time! In today’s article, I am going to be interviewing and rating different students’ favorite summer time treats around Carlson high school. We will be specifically talking about all things ice cream because who doesn’t like a cold treat on a hot summer day. 

Chocolate ice cream or fruit flavored ice cream? This debate has been going on for years amongst generations and today I am going to put it to the test! I interviewed Zach, Kenny, Izzy, Hyaden, Laila and Nora. We talk about all things flavors, prices and so much more. 

Make sure you keep reading to the end to see which one is more favored amongst CHS students. Then, you can decide which will be your next option when shopping at the grocery store or waiting in line at the ice cream shop this summer!

INTERVIEWS: 

Kenny Mccurdy, a tenth grader from CHS says that his favorite summer treat is blue panda ice cream from sweet treats. Blue panda ice cream consists of sweet blue and white sugar cookie ice cream that’s tied together with cookie dough and chocolate. The ice cream retails for $3.55 for a double scoop. Kennys favorite summer treat would fall under the chocolate ice cream category. 

Izzy Salas, an eleventh grader, says her favorite summer treat is bomb pop. A Bomb Pop consists of cherry blue raspberry and lime flavors. The cost of a box of Bomb Pops  depends but typically ranges anywhere from around $2.99- $6.00. Izzys favorite summer treat would fall under the fruit flavored category. 

Laila wilson, a tenth grader, says her favorite is rocky ice cream. Rocky road is chocolate ice cream that consists of marshmallows and nuts. It can also have peanuts, almonds or other pieces of chocolate candy. The cost of the ice cream depends but it typically ranges from around $2.78 to $5.40.  Laila’s favorite summer treat would fall under the chocolate category. 

Hayden Higgins, an eleventh grader says his favorite is an oreo blizzard from Dairy Queen. An oreo blizzard contains Vanilla Ice cream and Oreo pieces. The blizzard costs around $5.75. Hayden’s favorite summer treat would fall under the chocolate category.

Zach holewinski, a tenth grader, says his favorite is chocolate ice cream from sweet treats. The chocolate ice cream cost $3.55 for a double scoop. Zach’s favorite summer treat would fall under the chocolate category.

Nora Carlton, a tenth grader says her favorite is superman ice cream in a cone with sprinkles. Superman ice cream has three colors: blue, yellow, and red. it has a strawberry and banana flavor. A double scoop cost around $3.55 and it would be an extra 50 cents for the sprinkles. Nora’s favorite summer treat falls under the fruit flavored ice cream category.

Based on the interviews above, the winner for the most popular summer treat goes to…. The chocolate ice cream category! The chocolate ice cream category included the “Oreo Blizzard”, “Panda ice cream”, “rocky road” and “plain chocolate ice cream”. Remember that you can get these treats from Dairy Queen, Sweet Treats and your local grocery store!

The “other” category comes as a close second consisting of “bomb pop” and “superman ice cream with sprinkles”.
