Vintage Fashion: Making the Old New Again.

Vintage fashion became a thing when Colin James Weber and Brandon Veloria Giordano opened a vintage store in NYC, after that everyone dived right into trying new fashion styles. The term “vintage” is a French word meaning “past its time”. This phrase was first used in the 1920s to describe old-fashioned items considered a throwback.

How old is vintage clothing?

Vintage clothing is considered at least 20 years old, so anything from the 20s up to the 90s is considered vintage. Suppose clothes reflect old trends that’s when they would be regarded as vintage, like your mom’s or your grandma’s old clothes they like. If history is attached to a piece of old clothing it is vintage.
